A solar farm with a capacity of 220MW is to be developed in Myanmar.
It is said to be the largest solar plant in Southeast Asia.
It will generate power for more than 75% of Myanmar’s population that have no access to electricity.
Black & Veatch will develop the project, owned by Green Earth Power, in the first quarter of 2016.
Pitak Wangvarangkoon, General Manager of Black & Veatch’s business in Myanmar said: “The plant supports the Myanmar Government’s aim to increase electricity production from the present 2,500MW to 30,000MW by 2030.”
